La Sombra, comprising daily writing in spanish, dream analysis, ritual and visual art, is an exploration that lived with and within me for over a year. It was a tactile channel, facilitating a period of major transformation and discovery by exploring symbols of the subconscious, diving into deep psychology, biological interconnection, integrating death, loss and accessing vulnerable corners of the psyche by stream-of-consciousness making of childlike collage.
A selection of works from this series was shown as part of the How Cute is Cute? exhibition at Off the Kerb in Collingwood, Melbourne, in October 2025.
La Sombra has been a process of diving into memory, the symbols of the subconscious and exposing the flimsy facade of material reality.
