Leanne Bock (aka Le Riquiqui) is a visual artist with a parallel career in design and illustration.

b. Theodore, Qld. Australia, lived in London 2006–2013, Central America and México 2010–2011 & 2022, France 2013–2014, regional Australia and Sydney 2014–2017, Melbourne / Naarm 2002–2006, 2017–current.

My artistic practice involves exploring relationships between overlapping realities – individual and collective, biological and constructed, internal and external, body and world, micro and macro – as a way to untangle complex systems, contemplate the value and absurdity of contemporary conditions, and soften the boundaries to more intimately understand these realities as more of a unified whole. By means of philosophical and literary research, writing, and playful, embodied methodologies which tap into unconscious processes, I create ephemeral visual and textual ‘equations’, often using familiar symbols (like ordinary objects and / or makeshift materials) as a way to build analogies and portholes of perception which reflect a process of joining threads, peeling back layers, healing fragments, identifying patterns and clarifying networks of connection. For me, art is a search, an enriching open space of play, experimentation, curiosity, learning, the awakening of the senses, and expansion of consciousness and perception which ultimately reflects the constant transformations of inextricably connected internal and external worlds.
